A recent report from the Urban Institute analyzed the impact of age differences in unemployment and re-employment during the Great Recession. The very interesting report concluded, in part, as follows: “Older workers were less likely than younger workers to lose their jobs during the Great Recession , but those [older workers] who became unemployed took longer to find work. . . . [O]lder displaced workers suffer larger wage losses when they become unemployed.” For the full report, start here.
