Unemployment Insurance Interviews Project

Unemployment Insurance Interviews Project

Thank you for your interest in doing an interview with the Unemployment Law Project. ULP mostly helps people applying for benefits with their appeals if they are denied unemployment benefits. Our policy group also works on reforms of the system through rule making, outreach campaigns, legislation, and policy research.

The project we are conducting is a one-year study of claimants’ experience with applying for benefits. We are focusing on the barriers and challenges faced by a variety of people in Washington State. We want to know the impact of those barriers on claimants’ success in applying for and receiving benefits. The interview is confidential and we would like to use your answers to our questions anonymously.

To be eligible, participants must either have applied for unemployment benefits in Washington State in the last decade or have potentially been eligible for benefits in Washington during that time. Interviews are conducted over the phone and take about half an hour. Participants will receive $25 for their time. To sign up, fill out the form below and someone will reach out to schedule an interview.
